About this project

An experiment for generating knowledge as a collective.

As a grad student at University of Washington, I started working on a term paper to define what is “user-generated content” (UGC). In my research, it occurred to me that defining UGC can be in itself an example of UGC. So far, I have found many differing views on the term itself, and the scope of this new form of production.

As an online society we are constantly shaping the new “Economy of Information,” both in practice and in dialogue, and I thought: why not tap into the world that I’m looking at to better inform my research?

Some of your contributions will be used in my final paper as references. And I will post my final paper in December 2007. You are not required (but free) to disclose any information about yourself, nor you need to have any qualification to participate other than an opinion. You are also free to express it in any digital way possible.

I will post some questions and perhaps my own opinions as part of the discussion process.

Thank you in advance for your contributions.
